About Elias
Elias Agsteribbe discovered his passion for the bassoon and contrabassoon at the age of six and studied with leading teachers in Belgium and Switzerland. In 2013, he won first prize at the Bassoon Competition in Amsterdam in and has performed with several European orchestras, including the National Orchestra of Lithuania and Brussels Philharmonic. Additionally, he also played historical contrabassoon with the ensemble Apotheosis. Since August 2019, he has been Principal Contrabassoon of the Phil Zuid and is artist in residence with vzw SWUK. In 2025 he recorded a CD "Images" with pianist Samuel Van de Velde, as the new laureaat by SWUK. This CD will be availble from May 2025.
